GENTE is a model school in Rio de Janeiro City. Located in Rocinha, a very large and poor community, it has an initial capacity of 180 students ​

It’s aim is to customize the learning experience according to the needs of each student. It involved making them protagonists in the process of appropriating knowledge through the use of technology​

Led by then Head of Rio’s Education Department and now Head of Education at the World Bank Claudia Costin, and education technology specialist an pioneer Rafael Parente​

It was in this project that UNESCO performed a study of all solutions, showing that students who used the EvoBooks Science Laboratories achieved 37% improvement in Science proficiency versus the control group
